San Cristobal- cont'd

This is such an incredible city that I thought it warranted some more pictures for everyone to see. I also have to say that I cried twice here. First when the camera was returned and again when Hollis jumped from his seat to purchase candy for some street kids.  It wasn't suggested to him by his ever present parents, he did this completely on his own. We have seen quite a change in both our boys. Hollis is changing quite literally. By that I mean he is going through probably the most public puberty EVER! Living in such small quarters doesn't leave a whole lot of room for privacy. Every time Hollis sprouts a new hair we hear about it, see it, and are practically offered to take pictures of it. Ok, I'm joking about the picture part but the rest is very true. I have seen more of my boys than I did when they were babies. For the past three months we can each tell you exactly when the other has peed last or had a bowel movement too.
Anyway... they have both been such good travel companions. Despite the long hours of driving in hot, moist conditions they never complain and whatever situation arrises they just seem to be able to roll with it. They have seen more poverty than most Canadian kids ever see in a lifetime yet there is no judgement. They have had to speak to strangers in a  foreign language and most times are successful. They have endured countless hours of listening to adults exchange travel stories both good and bad. They have learned to be quiet when Mom and Dad are navigating through a new city, they are dealing with the media panic about swine flu and they ate goat tacos! ALL parts of the goat. We are very proud of them and hope we can continue to travel like this, as a family, seeing the world for many, many years to come.
Here are some of my fav pictures from San Cristobal. Provecho -enjoy!
